    Gluten Free Meatballs

Childhood Memories I spent countless hours in the kitchen with my Italian grandfather while growing up. I always opted to help him cook instead of playing with my cousins. They didn’t know where the real fun was…or where the yummy snacks were! While I’ve yet to master his amazing recipe as being one of gluten free meatballs, I found this AMAZING one from Fountain Avenue Kitchen. It was incredibly easy to make gluten free and the only additional change I made was adding more garlic…because is there every enough garlic? This recipe will certainly fit the bill until I’m able to master my grandfather’s recipe! In my home, we’re in…

    What is Celiac Disease?

What is Celiac Disease? What is Celiac Disease? It’s an autoimmune disorder in which the body is unable to process gluten (a protein found in wheat, barley and rye). Consuming gluten as someone with Celiac Disease, the body begins to attack the small intestine. This attack leads to damage of the villi, which are small fingerlike projections that line the small intestine, and are meant to promote nutrient absorption. When these villi get damaged, nutrients are unable to be absorbed properly into the body. Think of it this way, no matter how healthy your diet is, you’re malnourished. Is it Hereditary? Celiac Disease is hereditary and there is a 1…

    Gluten Free Monster Cookies

Gluten Free Monster Cookies I have a wonderful friend that always makes cookies for everyone at Christmas time, and she wanted to make sure I wasn’t excluded being that I’m gluten free. It’s hard to believe it has already been 10 years, but she took it upon herself to try out a few different cookie recipes, and I am to this day in love with this recipe of Gluten Free Monster Cookies! I’ve made them countless times and will use different candies or chocolates depending on my mood…or what’s in the pantry when the craving hits! This recipe has served it’s purpose in my life – primarily while nursing! Oh…

Why Do I Hold a Grudge?

Why Do I Hold a Grudge? I’ve been working really hard as of the last year to really work on myself. I am striving to become a better me and better understand myself, because I want to bring a positive light to those around me. With that, I’ve had to face some hard truths – I’m stubborn as hell and I can hold a mean grudge…many of you know this, but has this held me back? How has this pushed me forward in life? Stubbornness doesn’t have to be bad when harnessed the right way. But have I always used for the greater good? It’s questions like these that have…

    Gluten Free Sugar Cookies

Gluten Free Sugar Cookies It’s no secret the gluten free life leaves you with many positive and negative side effects. As a positive, there are countless nutritional benefits, mostly being that you’re often cooking more from scratch and using less processed foods. But it’s a total pain in the ass until you figure out how to navigate this new world. A flour substitution is not that easy – the results are almost never the same, and it costs money to figure all of this out. Gluten Free Sugar Cookies is my way of testing each new Gluten Free Flour I try. What is a better test than an item made…

    Gluten Free French Onion Soup

The Struggle is Real There are many things I missed once learning I have Celiac disease and having to go gluten-free. French onion soup was HIGH on this list because…obviously. I’m going to be honest, I absolutely hate gluten free cookbooks. It shouldn’t be so hard to cook and I don’t want to use a mixture of 12 million things to create the perfect flour. No. Just no. Over the years, I’ve learned how to adapt regular recipes to be gluten free, and I have a different type of flour for each type of cooking. I stumbled upon a recipe in the grocery store checkout line several years back, and…

    My Baby Girl is 3

Another Year Older My baby girl is 3 today. I’ve been super emotional about this all week long and I’m just not sure why. Maybe it’s the fact that I don’t really have a baby anymore, and we won’t be having another. As bizarre as it is, I don’t have baby fever for another baby, I have baby fever for MY babies to be tiny again. I want to relive those days again or at least make them last longer. I can’t help but get caught up in reminiscing about how Xavier was Scarlett’s age when we finally moved back to Alaska. How is it possible she’s as big as…

    Raising a Confident Child

A Private Exchange in Public As parents, how do we know we are raising a confident child? How do we help them grow without unknowingly pushing our own issues or insecurities onto them? My children are nearing 3 and 5, and it already feels like a constant struggle. I was taking some time to myself recently and enjoying some coffee in quiet at Starbucks. While sitting there, I watched the strangest yet incredibly captivating interaction between a couple in line. For whatever reason, salsa music was playing in the cafe and while I noticed it, I didn’t give it much thought. That is until I saw the woman waiting in…

    Potty Training Boys

The Struggle is Real I’m struggling guys. Where do we find the balance of letting our children become independent and restricting them for the sake of having to clean less? LOL! I’m especially talking about potty training boys – where’s the balance in that?! Xavier is nearing 5 and has recently decided it’s time to stand while going potty…let’s be honest though, that harebrained idea came up with Daddy’s help. And I’ll tell you why – Daddy thinks it’s time for him to be a big boy. You know what I think – What a stupid idea! I’m already at max capacity for cleaning the bathroom since this nonsense started…

6 Reasons for Using a Multiple Online Hostess Approach in Direct Sales

Time is Money Girl, if you’re using your valuable time to have single hosted online events with your direct sales business, you’re doing a disservice to your time! Maximizing your time and value is how you stay ahead of the game, and ultimately thrive in this business. In the past, I would spend at least 2 hours on each individual party plan, and my sales were dismal! Discouragement in the process and resentment towards hostesses was impeding my progress. You have to seek out new systems when current systems continuously put out the same negative results. Below are 6 reasons for using a multiple online hostess approach in direct sales…
